Conditions and Regulations for the Admission of International Students
Admission Procedure
Applications for enrollment in one of King Khalid University’s programs are submitted through the “Study in Saudi Arabia” platform. Admission is granted upon completion of the required application forms, submission of the necessary documents, and adherence to the deadlines announced on the platform.
Admission Requirements
First: For residents in the Kingdom who completed secondary education under the Saudi curriculum:
Obtaining a General Secondary Education Certificate.
Passing the General Aptitude Test (GAT).
Passing the Achievement Test (Tahsili).
Successfully passing the personal interview.
Being medically fit.
Achieving an IELTS score of no less than 5, or an equivalent score, for colleges offering programs taught in English.
Second: Residents in the Kingdom who have completed secondary education following a curriculum other than the Saudi curriculum (such as graduates from international schools in the Kingdom offering the American or British systems), as well as students who graduated from schools outside the Kingdom.
King Khalid University accepts any international pre-university educational system as an alternative to the national system of the Kingdom, provided that the student obtains a certificate equivalent to the Saudi high school certificate. The most important accepted certificates and systems include:
- Advanced Placement (AP) Exams/Tests.
- International Baccalaureate (IB) High Level (HL) Exams.
- Cambridge International A Level.
For the American System:
Obtaining a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Passing the Achievement Test (Tahsili) or one of its approved alternatives.
Passing the General Aptitude Test (GAT) or one of its approved alternatives.
Achieving an IELTS score of not less than 5, or an equivalent score, for colleges offering programs taught in English.
Submitting original transcripts for grades 10, 11, and 12, duly certified and stamped by the Ministry of Education.
Providing any additional certificates or test results required by the colleges as part of the competitive admission process.

Achieving an IELTS score of not less than 5, or an equivalent score, for colleges offering programs taught in English.
Submitting the original final certificates for O-Level subjects (including the required science subjects), in addition to the original A-Level certificates for the required science subjects.
Providing any additional certificates or test results required by the colleges during the competitive admission process.
Or meeting the following alternative criteria:

For the International Baccalaureate (IB) System:
Obtaining a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Passing the Achievement Test (Tahsili) or one of its approved alternatives.
Passing the General Aptitude Test (GAT) or one of its approved alternatives.
Achieving an IELTS score of not less than 5, or an equivalent score, for colleges offering programs taught in English.
Providing any additional certificates or test results required by the colleges during the competitive admission process.
Or meeting the following alternative criteria:

Admission Quotas:
Based on the resolution of the Council of Universities Affairs dated 04/08/1443 AH, which permits the admission of international students to Saudi universities without affecting the number of admitted Saudi students, the admission quotas are as follows:
- Up to 10% of the total number of admitted students per year for medical, health, engineering, technical, and business disciplines.
- Up to 30% for the remaining university disciplines.
General Requirements for the Admission of International Students to Bachelor’s Programs (with Tuition Fees):
Obtaining a General Secondary Education Certificate or its equivalent from within or outside the Kingdom, with foreign certificates recognized by the Ministry of Education.
If the applicant is a resident, they must hold a valid residency permit (Iqama) in Saudi Arabia and must not be authorized to work.
The applicant must have a valid score in the National Center for Assessment Tests (GAT and Achievement Tests) or an equivalent.
Consistency of the following information across the student’s passport, residency ID, and academic certificate: full name (in Arabic and English) and date of birth.
The applicant must be medically fit and capable of completing the program requirements.
The applicant must not have been dismissed for disciplinary reasons from any governmental university or academic institution.
The applicant must not be enrolled in another university inside or outside Saudi Arabia.
The applicant must not exceed 25 years of age.
The applicant must be academically outstanding.
The applicant must achieve the weighted/admission score exceeding the minimum score announced by the University.
Admitted students must pay the full tuition fees during the confirmation period, covering the entire cost for the first semester of the preparatory year or the assigned program.
Students are subject to the University’s regulations on study, examinations, and executive rules, as well as the rules governing student conduct and discipline.
At no stage during their university study is the student allowed to apply for a university-issued residency permit.

Original High School Certificate.
Original valid residency permit (Iqama).
Color photograph (4×6 cm) with a white background.
Supporting certificates for admission (English language certificates, equivalency certificates for GAT and Achievement Tests).
Tuition Fees
Students are required to pay the tuition fees according to their program as per the schedule. Payment must be made before the start of each semester to allow enrollment in courses according to the study plan.

A 15% Value Added Tax (VAT) is applied to the above tuition amounts
Financial Regulations for the Program
Applicants must pay the required tuition fees within the deadlines specified by the University.
No exemption or reduction shall be granted for the tuition fees prescribed for any program.
Tuition fees for the full semester must be paid prior to the beginning of each academic semester.
All payments must be made through the University’s approved online banking platforms and official banking applications.
A refund of 90% of the tuition fees will be issued if a withdrawal request is submitted before the end of the second week of the first semester, in accordance with the University’s academic calendar.
A refund of 50% of the tuition fees will be issued if a withdrawal request is submitted from the beginning of the third week until the end of the eighth week of the first semester, in accordance with the University’s academic calendar.
No refund will be issued for withdrawal requests submitted after the eighth week of the first semester, in accordance with the University’s academic calendar.
The student forfeits the right to a refund if they withdraw or interrupt their studies during the semester.
Full payment of the tuition fees (first or second installment) is required for issuing the University ID and completing course registration.
The student forfeits any right to a refund or financial claim in the event of disciplinary dismissal from the program.
